A fun Valentine’s Day treat on a stick… a perfect surprise for your own little valentines or send them to school for classmates or a sweet little teacher gift! You can easily add a cellophane treat bag before you tie the bows if you’ll be transporting them.

Love Bug Dipped Oreo Pops

A fun Valentine's Day treat on a stick… a perfect surprise for your own little valentines or send them to school for classmates or a sweet little teacher gift! You can easily add a cellophane treat bag before you tie the bows if you'll be transporting them.
Servings: 12 pops
Course: Dessert

Ingredients
  

  • 12 double stuff oreo cookies
  • 12 oz pink candy melts
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ tsp crisco shortening
  • cup heart sprinkles
  • 24 small eyeball edible decorations
  • 12 lolipop sticks
  • ribbon

Method
 

  1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Insert sticks gently into oreos.
  3. Melt pink candy melts per package directions. Melt each oreo into melted candy and lay flat on the cookie sheet. Let harden.
  4. Melt semi sweet chocolate chips and shortening at 80% power in 30 second intervals stirring at each interval. Dip each pop into chocolate only enough to create their faces. Use a toothpick to create a chocolate line to delineate the two wings. Add eyes while the chocolate is still wet. Let harden.
  5. Remelt the pink candy and and use a tiny amount and a toothpick to stick the heart spots on the wings. Let harden.
  6. Add a bow to each stick or a cellophane treat bag and a bow. Enjoy!
