Monster Mash Halloween Cookies

A monstrously fun Halloween twist on a classic oatmeal chocolate chip cookie! These are a cute addition to any Halloween gathering and even the smallest little ones can help put these together because the more chaotic they turn out the more scary and fun they are!
Servings: 36 cookies
Course: Dessert

Ingredients

  • 14 tbsp butter, softened (one stick plus 6 tbsp)
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 cups quick one minute oats
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 72 eye ball decorations
  • 2 cups chocolate peanut butter coated candies
  • halloween sprinkles

Method

  1. Heat oven to 350℉. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Beat together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar on medium speed with electric mixer until creamy.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix well.
  4. Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.
  5. Add semi sweet chocolate baking chips. Mix well.
  6. Drop dough by rounded generous tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown. Remove to wire rack. Add eye ball decorations, coated candies, and sprinkles. Work quickly while the cookies are still warm and press the decorations in gently to make sure everything sticks. Enjoy!

Notes

The coated candies that are peanut butter and chocolate inside look very similar to the regular coated chocolate candies so use care if there may be allergies! You can also easily substitute plain coated chocolate candies instead of the peanut butter flavor.
