Star Spangled Cones

Jazz up your ice cream cones before your Memorial Day or Fourth of July gathering with this quick and easy idea!
Servings: 12 cones
Course: Dessert

Ingredients
  

  • 12 ice cream cones
  • 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ tsp crisco shortening
  • ½ cup star sprinkles

Method
 

  1. Melt chocolate and shortening in a microwave safe dish on 80% power in thirty second intervals stirring at each interval.
  2. Dip each cone into the melted chocolate. Add star sprinkles quickly before the chocolate begins to harden.
  3. Refrigerate to help chocolate harden. A mini muffin tin is helpful to keep the cones upright as they set up.
  4. Set aside and scoop ice cream when you're ready to serve!
